In 1948, Heinz Alfs loaded a ship with gravel for the first time and dispatched it to Antwerp. This laid the foundation for the family business, which the third generation successfully runs today.
\nDemand grew steadily, and so did the number of deliveries, predominantly to destinations in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Trans-Splitt AG (today ALFS AG) was founded in Switzerland in 1964 as a shipping company to secure the transport of gravel and clippings. ALFS AG is now an independent company based in Bottmingen (near Basel, Switzerland) and responsible for the trade and transport of all construction aggregates on the Upper Rhine.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
