After Heinz Alfs had a ship loaded with gravel on the Upper Rhine for the first time in 1948 and sent it to Antwerp, he laid the foundation for the family business, which the third generation is successfully running today. Demand grew steadily, as did the number of deliveries, primarily to Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands. To ensure the transport of gravel and chippings, ALFS AG (formerly Trans-Splitt AG) was founded as a shipping company in Switzerland in 1964. Today, ALFS AG offers its customers a total service of trading and transport.
