We rely on shipping – an underestimated ecology-oriented mode of transport!

Thanks to the possibility of transporting large quantities of goods in one ship, shipping is a much more ecologically oriented mode of transport than, for example, transporting goods by road or rail. This is highly beneficial to the environment:

1 inland vessel with a cargo of 2000 tonnes carries the same amount as 50 railway wagons or 80 HGVs. To ship 1 tonne of cargo 100 km, an inland vessel needs 1.3 litres of diesel. Transport by rail consumes a third more, and transport by road even more than three times as much.
