Several million years ago, glaciers moved slowly and inexorably from the central foothills of the Alps down into the Bay of Basel. This was the Würm Ice Age, and for many thousands of years enormous quantities of rock were pushed metre by metre the long way down into the valley. As it was washed out and sieved, only the really hard, frost-resistant crystalline stones could survive this natural selection. Gravel and high-grade chippings are extracted from these, which are ideal for concrete and asphalt construction use. Heinz Alfs registered “ALPINE MORÄNE” as a trademark for these high-quality chippings at the German Patent Office in 1961. Today, this name still stands for the highest quality.
Upper Rhine gravel is a naturally formed round grain material (primary raw material) and withstands the highest mechanical, physical, and chemical stresses.

Fine grit is a mechanically double-crushed bulk material (primary raw material) made of natural round grain material with excellent technical properties. Noble crushed sand is produced during the second crushing process.

As a new addition to our range, we now also offer mixed demolition waste (exclusively grade Z 1.1) and material in any desired grain size. Delivered by barge or lorry or collected yourself.
Mixed demolition is a mixture of exclusively mineral construction waste from solid building components such as concrete, brick, sand-lime brick, and natural stone masonry.
